It is the swing that defines the weekend: Thor Griffith in the 243rd pick, a good 52 spots before the room expected him.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Ferguson. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a matchup problem out wide at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Donovan Jackson in No. 58 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jordan Phillips at pick No. 89 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Taking Andrew Mukuba in the 127th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor itch, scratched.
They robbed the room for Terrance Ferguson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A real head-scratcher, Thor Griffith in the 243rd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
