The one they had to fix is still broken. The Texans left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Reaching for Clark left real value on the table behind him. Banks at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 28 they get a matchup weapon at tight end, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
They took Emmanuel Pregnon at par in No. 38, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Caleb Banks at the 59th pick is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They read the board right and Jadarian Price was the payoff at the 69th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Monroe Freeling at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A slide stopped in slot 128, with Keylan Rutledge worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They jumped the gun on Bud Clark, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Jalil Farooq in pick 243; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jordan Hall in Round 7, Pick 28 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
