This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Lathan Ransom, the No. 107 name on the board, stolen at slot 167.
Griffith has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a home-run threat at receiver, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Donovan Jackson at pick 58 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Mason Taylor in slot 89. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Darius Alexander in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Lathan Ransom at pick No. 167 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor itch, scratched.
Thor Griffith in the 243rd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
