The Cardinals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cam Skattebo fell into pick No. 151. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Every board in the league had Farmer lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th pick they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A wild overpay on Donovan Ezeiruaku in slot 47, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joshua Farmer this early at pick 78. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach on Darius Alexander in Round 4, Pick 12; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A running back of that caliber at the 151st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
