The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Danny Stutsman, No. 154, roughly 69 picks past where he belonged. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.
They are betting Jefferson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick-by-Pick
Jihaad Campbell slid further than he should have, and the 48th pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had Charles Grant higher than No. 98, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Somehow Quinshon Judkins was still sitting there in slot 114, and they pounced on premier running back value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Oronde Gadsden II at pick No. 133 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at the 149th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A linebacker of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Value said wait; KJ Jefferson in pick 224 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A big swing on Jamaree Caldwell at Round 7, Pick 15, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
De'Corian Clark at Round 7, Pick 36 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
