The Dolphins ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Beebe reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Jackson Powers-Johnson went about where he belonged in pick No. 53. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Cooper Beebe this early at the 58th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They took Joe Milton III at par in slot 158, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
De'Corian Clark in No. 186 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid up for Brian Ugwu at pick 199 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They did well to land Mark Perry in Round 7, Pick 22, just ahead of his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
