The board owed the Cardinals one, and it paid up: Malachi Moore, the No. 87 name on the board, sitting there at Round 5, Pick 14 like a gift left on the doorstep.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Walter Nolen at par in pick 16, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jalon Walker in Round 2, Pick 15 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Omarion Hampton in No. 81 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
A straight-up fair deal on Joshua Farmer at the 113th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Malachi Moore here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at slot 152 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
