They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Troy Omeire, 32 picks early at No. 242. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Hopper makes the weekend a net positive. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 28 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They took T'Vondre Sweat at par in the 54th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Drake Nugent at slot 137 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Braelon Allen at Round 5, Pick 22 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value with a capital V on Ty'Ron Hopper in pick No. 165, a genuine coup. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Chau Smith-Wade in the 172nd pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Christian Jones in the 199th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Troy Omeire at No. 242 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
