The board owed the Dolphins one, and it paid up: Brandon Dorlus, the No. 72 name on the board, sitting there at Round 3, Pick 29 like a gift left on the doorstep. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Limmer left real value on the table behind him.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Graham Barton in the Round 2 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They liked McKinnley Jackson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 73rd pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A edge rusher of that caliber at slot 92 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A big swing on Beaux Limmer at No. 124, well ahead of any board in the building. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Braelon Allen in pick 155 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Sheridan Jones all the way to Round 7, Pick 19, and they scooped it up. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
