You could see the war room lean forward. Josh Proctor at pick No. 213 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Ford reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a lockdown presence outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No drama and no debate, Jonathon Brooks went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 24. It fills a real need, too.
Christian Mahogany at pick No. 97 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Sataoa Laumea at slot 125 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A quiet steal in pick 170: Edefuan Ulofoshio for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Delmar Glaze at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
