The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named quarterback, a need the Commanders walked right past.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Carson. The Watts reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Zaire Franklin gives the group a proven body among the projects. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 15 they get juice off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Troy Fautanu in pick No. 36. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in pick 49, with Xavier Worthy worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
