They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Jones reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. That Hall Jr. pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Nothing to complain about; Adonai Mitchell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No drama and no debate, Bralen Trice went about where he belonged in pick 39. The roster fit checks out.
Kiran Amegadjie at the 47th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had cheaper options than Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 3, and it noticed. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They let Michael Hall Jr. come to them and pounced at the Round 4 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jarrian Jones. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Theo Johnson in the 138th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach on Ethan Driskell in Round 6, Pick 6; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, Michael Barrett at No. 185 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They took Josh Wallace at par in the 220th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
