The Chiefs spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Ricky Pearsall, the No. 58 name on the board, in the 83rd pick.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Ricky Pearsall in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Malik Washington in pick No. 95; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They let Javon Baker come to them and pounced at pick 103. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Christian Jones at No. 133 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 22, with Marcus Harris worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Trevor Keegan slid further than he should have, and slot 172 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Jared Wiley in the 220th overall pick, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
