When a board-topper like Cooper Beebe slides to slot 133, you do not overthink it, and the Chiefs did not.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Tyler Guyton in the Round 1 slot, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Terrion Arnold here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Zach Frazier in No. 95 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Cooper Beebe in the 133rd overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Steal is underselling it; Johnny Wilson at pick 158 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
You do not let a wide receiver like Ainias Smith reach pick No. 172 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
