Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Dolphins spent pick 239 on Zion Logue, a name most had 51 spots down the list. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They banked enough surplus on Wilson to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
A slide stopped in pick No. 39, with Brian Thomas Jr. worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tyler Nubin slid further than he should have, and pick 47 is lovely value for the safety. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They reached a country mile for Cooper Beebe at Round 2, Pick 23, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Beaux Limmer in the Round 3 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
Christian Jones at slot 157 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Johnny Wilson in No. 168 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A premium they did not need to pay, Joe Milton III a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a cornerback like Kamal Hadden reach the 200th pick and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A wild overpay on Zion Logue in slot 239, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
