You build a draft on nights like this. Mason McCormick had no business being available in No. 183, and the Chargers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Eichenberg to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The veteran additions, DaVon Hamilton chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
