You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Dolphins did exactly that with Joe Milton III in pick 157.
Coleman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Taking Keon Coleman in slot 55 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Braelon Allen well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.

Joe Milton III in the Round 5 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tanor Bortolini at pick 197 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; De'Corian Clark in slot 241 says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
