When a board-topper like Johnny Dixon slides to pick 241, you do not overthink it, and the Dolphins did not. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
They will need Milton III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Hjalte Froholdt gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at No. 55 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Keon Coleman in pick 71 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joe Milton III this early at the 157th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Dwight McGlothern at the 183rd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A reach for Nathan Thomas in pick No. 197; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
