Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Johnny Dixon got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at pick 252. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Adonai Mitchell and all.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 33
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
R4.31 · Pick 131 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 84
Khyree Jackson at No. 131 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Dallin Holker · TE · rank 158
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dallin Holker in the 172nd pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.32 · Pick 252 · Johnny Dixon · CB · rank 181
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Johnny Dixon in pick No. 252, plain and simple. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
