You build a draft on nights like this. Malik Mustapha had no business being available in pick No. 198, and the Dolphins did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Driskell has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
A premium they did not need to pay, T'Vondre Sweat a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Haynes at Round 2, Pick 23 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Fair-plus on Zach Frazier, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Johnny Wilson at the 132nd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had cheaper options than Justin Rogers at the Round 6 slot, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Malik Mustapha in the 198th overall pick, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A wild overpay on Ethan Driskell in slot 241, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
