The rest of the league will want that one back. Myles Harden tumbling to the Chiefs in the Round 7 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Kiran Amegadjie at pick No. 69 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Patrick Paul reach pick 95 and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for Dallin Holker in the 145th pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Luke McCaffrey at No. 159 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kitan Oladapo at Round 5, Pick 37 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They barely believed it either: Myles Harden still on the board at slot 252. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
No drama and no debate, Jalen Coker went about where he belonged in the 253rd overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
