This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Tahj Washington, the No. 189 name on the board, stolen at the 220th overall pick. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Adonai Mitchell and all.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Adonai Mitchell. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ja'Tavion Sanders in pick 64 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in the 159th pick, where Tommy Eichenberg graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
The board had Isaiah Davis higher than slot 166, and the running back fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good price on Javion Cohen in No. 175, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 45 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
KT Leveston at pick No. 239 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Myles Harden at the 240th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
Jalen Sundell at No. 252 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
