You can draft well and still miss the point. The Chiefs did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to tight end, which was the need that mattered most. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
However the rest shakes out, Ulofoshio at that price is a win they earned. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
In the end it comes back to Tyler Guyton, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Johnny Wilson in No. 132 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They did well to land Dillon Johnson in the 173rd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Edefuan Ulofoshio in the 252nd pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
