This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: M.J. Devonshire, the No. 191 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 21. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They are betting Jackson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Donovan Wilson gives the group a proven body among the projects.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A reach on Christian Haynes in the 55th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
McKinnley Jackson in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A big swing on Grayson Murphy at Round 5, Pick 22, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They liked Kendall Milton enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 184. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Trente Jones in pick No. 198. The roster fit checks out.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, M.J. Devonshire in the 241st pick, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
