The Chargers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Javon Foster fell into slot 181. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Duke pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 5 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Nate Wiggins in the 37th pick, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Junior Colson in the 69th overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
