The rest of the league will want that one back. Evan Williams tumbling to the Chiefs in the 252nd overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a matchup weapon at tight end, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 32 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 95 with a little surplus value in Javon Baker. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cam Hart in No. 132 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A tidy bit of business in slot 159, where Mason McCormick graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cody Schrader in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
