The Dolphins spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, the No. 195 name on the board, in Round 7, Pick 21. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Rogers has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 29 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A premium they did not need to pay, Christian Haynes a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brandon Dorlus at Round 3, Pick 25. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They jumped the gun on Braelon Allen, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Fair-plus on Kitan Oladapo, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A big swing on Justin Rogers at the 164th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They went early on Joe Milton III in the 184th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They liked Drake Nugent enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 198. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the 241st pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
