Call it larceny. Logan Jones sat on the board until No. 129, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B.
For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They are betting Lawrence proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
They took Christen Miller at par in the 57th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid up for Malachi Lawrence at No. 60 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mike Washington Jr. at the Round 3 slot is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 129th pick is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Louis Moore at Round 5, Pick 25 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A tidy bit of business in slot 239, where Zavion Thomas graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jaren Kanak at pick No. 241 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
