The trade table was a mismatch, and the Chiefs were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A.
They banked enough surplus on Holker to cover a lot of smaller sins. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
A slide stopped in the Round 5 slot, with Luke McCaffrey worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Dallin Holker at No. 173 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Donovan Jennings at the 252nd pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
