The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Sonny Styles, Round 6, Pick 29, roughly 190 picks past where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 9 they get an every-down engine for the run game. A clean fit for the roster.
In No. 29 they get a bendy edge with upside at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Mansoor Delane in Round 2, Pick 8 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Carnell Tate at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Kenyon Sadiq in the 109th overall pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Jermod McCoy at pick No. 148 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They robbed the room for Kayden McDonald here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Jordyn Tyson all the way to the 176th pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Sonny Styles in Round 6, Pick 29 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
