The Wetjen pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Good price on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in the 57th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They took Keionte Scott at par in Round 2, Pick 28, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Sam Hecht in the Round 3 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Isaiah World in pick 145 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Zane Durant at No. 186 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Value with a capital V on Zavion Thomas in slot 239, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
They barely believed it either: Kaden Wetjen still on the board at the 241st overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
