The board owed the Eagles one, and it paid up: Tip Reiman, the No. 183 name on the board, sitting there at pick 210 like a gift left on the doorstep. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Chop Robinson in slot 22, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. A minor need, but a need all the same.
By-the-book stuff, T.J. Tampa at No. 53 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Johnny Wilson at the 120th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Kitan Oladapo in pick 161 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A need, and now a little less of one.
Value with a capital V on Tykee Smith in the Round 5 slot, a genuine coup. The roster fit checks out.
Kamal Hadden at pick No. 172 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Tip Reiman in the 210th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
