The Browns treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 206 on Fa'alili Fa'amoe a full 49 spots early.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Styles pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Sonny Styles at slot 24 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Chris Johnson at the 39th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jake Slaughter in pick No. 70. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Joe Royer at pick 109 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No drama and no debate, Isaiah World went about where he belonged in No. 146. A need, and now a little less of one.
Malik Benson in Round 5, Pick 9 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They reached a country mile for Fa'alili Fa'amoe at the 206th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: Cameron Ball for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They took Xavier Nwankpa at par in No. 248, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
