Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Chiefs were there to profit. Julian Pearl, the No. 204 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 252nd pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd overall pick they get a load in the middle, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Jermaine Burton slid further than he should have, and slot 66 is lovely value for the wide receiver. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Fair-plus on Javon Baker, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A tidy bit of business in pick 135, where Johnny Wilson graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Jamari Thrash in pick No. 138, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Trevor Keegan is a better player than Round 5, Pick 23 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Isaiah Davis in No. 173. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Julian Pearl at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
