The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Jordyn Tyson slide 197 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 12 they get juice off the edge. Need was not the driver here.
In slot 21 they get the heartbeat of the defense, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
They robbed the room for Mansoor Delane here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Sonny Styles at Round 3, Pick 28 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Spencer Fano in the 112th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jermod McCoy in the 152nd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They will replay Kenyon Sadiq at pick No. 177 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Kayden McDonald in pick 180, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Taking Jordyn Tyson in the 218th pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
