Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bears spent the 57th overall pick on Dani Dennis-Sutton, a name the board had a full 29 spots lower. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Trost value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
