This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kamal Hadden, the No. 178 name on the board, stolen at slot 221. No fireworks, but a solid B.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd overall pick they get protection for the quarterback at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Ja'Lynn Polk at the 64th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Cooper Beebe at No. 95 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board had Johnny Wilson higher than pick 131, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dallin Holker. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaylin Simpson at pick No. 173 is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
