If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Texans, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
They will need Allen to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Pearsall at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
The Texans paired the rookies with proven help, Ikem Ekwonu leading the way.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Chop Robinson in the 33rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A premium they did not need to pay, Cooper Beebe a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
Mike Sainristil at slot 89 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Ricky Pearsall slipping to Round 3, Pick 27 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

Braelon Allen at pick 126 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Jontrey Hunter at the 212th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
