Somebody took the Dolphins to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
The cost of the Murphy reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. However the rest shakes out, McCaffrey at that price is a win they earned.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value.
They liked Bralen Trice enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 55. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Michael Hall Jr. at the 76th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach on Cedric Gray in pick 104; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
A tidy little value on Kitan Oladapo in No. 158, a step better than break-even. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Somehow Luke McCaffrey was still sitting there in the 174th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A reach for Myles Cole in Round 6, Pick 9; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Myles Murphy at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint slipping to pick 206 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
