Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Giants never addressed interior defensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Kinchens. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 6 they get a building block for the line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kamren Kinchens at the 39th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Devontez Walker at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Christian Haynes in pick No. 70; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They did well to land Dominick Puni in pick 107, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let Kamal Hadden come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 7. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Julian Pearl at slot 185 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the OT-EDGE. Hard to map this one onto the depth chart at all.
