Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Devin Culp at pick No. 244 is 60 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jones. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
Jaylen Wright at the 56th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Taking Mike Sainristil in the Round 3 slot is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Luke McCaffrey in the 169th pick, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Marist Liufau at Round 5, Pick 38 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Fabien Lovett at No. 176 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Trente Jones at slot 216 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A straight-up fair deal on Dominique Hampton at pick No. 233, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Value said wait; Devin Culp in Round 7, Pick 24 says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
