Call it larceny. Troy Franklin sat on the board until No. 66, and the Giants did not need to be asked twice. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.27 · Pick 27 · Rome Odunze · WR · rank 10
Rome Odunze slid further than he should have, and the Round 1 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 22
Chop Robinson at the 35th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · J.J. McCarthy · QB · rank 32
J.J. McCarthy at pick 39 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 48
They paid sticker price for T.J. Tampa in Round 2, Pick 15, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Troy Franklin · WR · rank 30
The board fumbled Troy Franklin all the way to the 66th pick, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Blake Fisher · OT · rank 69
No edge and no loss on Blake Fisher in No. 70; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 56
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kamren Kinchens in slot 71. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 88
A straight-up fair deal on Dominick Puni at pick No. 90, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 107
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in No. 108. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.4 · Pick 140 · Marist Liufau · LB · rank 147
By-the-book stuff, Marist Liufau at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R6.10 · Pick 185 · Khristian Boyd · DL-EDGE · rank 179
Khristian Boyd at slot 185 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
