The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cardinals watched Jihaad Campbell slide 40 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Grant has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th pick they get a wrecking ball inside at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
They reached into another round for Charles Grant, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Jihaad Campbell at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Vernon Broughton in the 113th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Antwane Wells Jr. in pick 151 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
