There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cardinals started one anyway for Max Brosmer, 137 picks ahead of schedule.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 16 they get a long-term starter on the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
By-the-book stuff, Marcus Mbow at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Darien Porter at Round 3, Pick 14 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Vernon Broughton in pick 114 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Max Brosmer at No. 153 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
