Whoever sat across the table from the Giants should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Mustapha pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
Adding Courtland Sutton by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with safety the one that mattered most.
Bottom line, with Cooper DeJean leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Cooper DeJean went about where he belonged in the Round 1 slot. The roster fit checks out.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Roman Wilson. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Kiran Amegadjie at Round 3, Pick 6 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Ray Davis in slot 107; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy little value on Roger Rosengarten in No. 141, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Malik Mustapha in pick No. 183 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
