The Giants ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. The Mims steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Harrell pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick-by-Pick
Value with a capital V on Amarius Mims in pick No. 39, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Xavier Legette in Round 2, Pick 15. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, J.J. McCarthy at the 55th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Brandon Dorlus in slot 70 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
They paid sticker price for Leonard Taylor III in pick 108, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nothing to complain about; Will Shipley went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jaylen Harrell at the Round 6 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
