Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys cashed the board's mistake on Speights: B-.

2024 NFL Draft

· 2 steals
· 0 reaches
The rest of the league will want that one back. Omar Speights tumbling to the Cowboys in slot 245 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 56th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Marist Liufau in pick No. 87 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They did well to land Leonard Taylor III in the 124th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value with a capital V on Jaylen Wright in slot 174, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good price on JD Bertrand in pick 212, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steal is underselling it; Omar Speights at Round 7, Pick 25 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
