The Giants ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.
The Guyton steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Jordan Addison leading the way. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Bottom line, with Xavier Legette leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chris Braswell in pick No. 39. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 47 with a little surplus value in T.J. Tampa. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Tyler Guyton in the 70th pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Nothing to complain about; Tyler Davis went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Michael Pratt in Round 4, Pick 7 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A need, and now a little less of one.
Value with a capital V on James Williams in No. 143, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Isaiah Davis at slot 185 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They robbed the room for Jaylan Ford here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
