Start where it matters. The Giants took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Getting Bishop where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 39 with a little surplus value in Quinyon Mitchell. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Devontez Walker in Round 2, Pick 15 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Mekhi Wingo at pick No. 70 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dominick Puni in the Round 4 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A slide stopped in the 143rd pick, with Cole Bishop worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They read the board right and Frank Gore Jr. was the payoff at the 185th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
