The war room fell hard for Ben Sinnott, and it showed at pick No. 88: 44 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
Bullard at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Quinyon Mitchell at pick No. 41 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They barely believed it either: Kamari Lassiter still on the board at Round 2, Pick 26. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Ben Sinnott in pick 88 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Javon Bullard in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They will replay Trey Benson at No. 127 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
